A recent acquisition is set to transform the portable and off-grid energy market: BioLite<\/b><\/a> has acquired Goal Zero<\/b><\/a>, two of the leading U.S. brands in the outdoor and remote power gear market.<\/p>\n

This news brought back many personal memories. I discovered Goal Zero during a trip to the U.S. in 2012, when I bought two of their powerbanks \u2014 which I used for over 10 years! I came across BioLite shortly after, during the crowdfunding campaign for the now-famous CampStove<\/b>, a revolutionary stove that generates electricity from the heat of burning biomass.<\/p>\n

Since then, I\u2019ve followed both brands closely, testing several of their products on the Gear Tips<\/b> channel. In addition to stoves, I currently use BioLite gear like powerbanks, solar panels, and headlamps<\/b>, which always accompany me on outdoor adventures.<\/p>\n

Over the years, I even had direct conversations with BioLite to explore the possibility of distributing the brand in Brazil. However, due to high import and logistics costs, the project didn\u2019t materialize at the time.<\/p>\n

In this article, I share more about whom BioLite and Goal Zero are, what this acquisition means, and what we can expect for the future of portable energy.<\/p>\n

Founded in 2006 by Jonathan Cedar<\/b> and Alec Drummond<\/b>, BioLite was born with the mission of developing clean and affordable energy solutions for people living off the grid \u2014 whether for outdoor recreation or underserved communities around the world.<\/p>\n

With a business model called Parallel Innovation<\/b>, BioLite develops technologies that serve both the recreational market (camping, hiking) and communities in developing countries.<\/p>\n
