Nos Alpes is a Brazilian company that has been in the market since 2016, producing sustainable fashion inspired by the mountains and nature. The brand was born with the slow fashion model, a movement that values quality and sustainability, going against the trend of excessive consumption and material waste. Since its creation, Nos Alpes has been committed to environmental preservation, promoting and supporting socio-environmental initiatives.
Personal Inspiration
Ramon Cavalheiro was a young retail worker bothered by the encouragement of unchecked consumerism. On his days off, he would head to the mountains, where the only excess is nature itself.
From the combination of dissatisfaction and the practice of mountaineering, Nos Alpes was born, emerging from studies on a more conscious production model focused on made-to-order mountain-inspired t-shirts. Today, the company offers a clothing line that also includes sweatshirts and fleeces, as well as customized pieces for companies and institutions.

Conscious Production at Nos Alpes
Nos Alpes t-shirts are made with sustainable cotton and digital printing, which uses less energy and water during the manufacturing process. Additionally, fabrics with the BCI (Better Cotton Initiative) certification are used, ensuring that the production process complies with ethical and environmental standards, allowing each piece to be a conscious choice for customers and for the planet.

Furthermore, our fabric supplier promotes zero chemical waste. The water used for dyeing the fabric is treated and reused, completing a conscious dyeing cycle.”
At the beginning of 2022, the company added polyamide t-shirts to its product line, which are in high demand among outdoor sports practitioners and professionals, all while adhering to sustainable production standards. “The textile mill we work with has internal programs aimed at reducing carbon emissions, using renewable energy for production, and proper disposal of dyeing waste.”
The synthetic products carry the Oeko-tex® seal, which encompasses strict safety and sustainability criteria, ensuring they are free from harmful substances. The seal confirms that the fabrics have undergone comprehensive testing at all stages of manufacturing, from raw materials to the final product. This includes the analysis of components such as heavy metals, pesticides, formaldehyde, carcinogenic dyes, among others.
Relentlessly seeking increasingly sustainable solutions, Ramon is studying the possibility of migrating the polyamide collection to biodegradable dry fit, which decomposes faster and is less polluting.
Socio-Environmental Collections
Nos Alpes also produces and sells t-shirts designed for initiatives that promote environmental education, nature conservation, accessibility, and the safe practice of mountaineering. “We allocate 10% of each t-shirt sale to the institutions. In addition to helping organizations bring their collections to life, we want people to get to know each of these initiatives.”
The production of socio-environmental collections began in 2021 with the SOS Casa Ipiranga association, a movement aimed at preserving historical monuments located in the Serra do Mar, Paraná. “From that point on, I realized there was a repressed demand from organizations focused on nature conservation that didn’t have a partner to handle the production of their t-shirts,” explains Ramon.
Currently, Nos Alpes develops collections for Projeto Parques Nacionais, focused on valuing and promoting Brazil’s National Parks and other Conservation Units; for Instituto Montanha para Todos, which encourages access to nature for people with motor disabilities; and for Outward Bound Brasil (OBB).
Zero Plastic in Nos Alpes Packaging
Nos Alpes packaging follows a zero-plastic concept, reflecting the company’s commitment to reducing environmental impact. Still, they remain attractive and creative, pleasantly surprising customers. “We use customized bread bags stamped with our brand. Customers always compliment them, recognizing the artisanal nature of the initiative.”
In addition, Nos Alpes practices recycling of materials from its suppliers, using them whenever possible, and offsets post-consumer packaging through the “Eu Reciclo” seal.
Tree Seedling Planting
Another initiative by the company to reduce environmental impact is the monthly planting of tree seedlings. This began in 2021 with a collective effort organized by the company, supported by an agroforestry project in Curitiba.
From 2022 to 2024, Nos Alpes maintained a partnership with Associação Ambientalista Copaíba, which carries out reforestation of riparian forests in the river of fish and Camanducaia basins to promote more effective biodiversity conservation.
In three years, the company planted 535 seedlings. This and other initiatives are made available in its positive impact report, updated annually on the Nos Alpes website. “In the future, we aim to host our own sustainability-focused events,” says Ramon.
ReCycle Project
Visitors to the Nos Alpes website will also find a recycled wallet model alongside the clothing line. The accessory is part of the ReCycle project, an upcycling program that transforms old air mattresses into practical, functional, and durable accessories—thus keeping the material out of landfills.
The idea came from Ramon’s experience working in a large department store and at Aluga Trip, a company focused on camping gear rentals. “One of the most frequently discarded items was the air mattress. Talking to a friend who owns a studio, the idea emerged to use those materials to produce and sell items like the wallet.”
Nos Alpes plans to expand its upcycling line, producing fanny packs, shoulder bags, and camping mats, and to launch a reverse logistics program in partnership with mattress manufacturers.
Support for the Gear Tips Recycling Program
The company is also one of the participants in the Gear Tips Recycling Program, which promotes environmental awareness and facilitates the proper disposal, collection, and recycling of camping gas canisters—preventing them from ending up in landfills or dumps.
Nos Alpes is a role model for major outdoor brands, proving that even as a small company, it upholds values that are vital for the planet’s future and future generations.
